Your #1 Barrier to Greatness
When my soul leaves this body, I want to be able to say that I did what I could to bring forth and live my full potential. I want to be able to say that I used my talents to inspire others to become their best self as well.
In your full potential lies greatness, beauty, wisdom and power. No human has ever been or will ever be made up of the same blueprint as you are in this life.
You are unique, so is your message and what you create.
You know, I desire to have the best life possible for me and maybe you do too.
There are two aspects to carving out your best life and I’d like you to be aware of both of them. Stick with me till the end to give you the most important ingredient to facilitate change in both these areas.
1) Your service
When you talk, write and create something, it is not important to reinvent the wheel every time. Yes, there may be other people out there who are offering a similar service or maybe even the same service, yet, your energy is infused in every piece of content you put out. It is unique to you and will attract followers that resonate with your tone, your way of putting it and the energy you infuse into it (consciously or unconsciously).
If you don’t show up and bring what you have to offer to the table, someone else won’t be able to eat. Even though there may be someone more ‘successful’ out there with the same message, trust that you are much needed and that there are people that can only take it from you. Yes, others may have similar services or products, but your energy is special and will attract a whole different crowd.
This world needs courageous people who are willing and ready to step up and be the lighthouse so that others can follow. More and more we are building a movement of light. A light that is so strong, it cannot be dimmed by darkness. Your light is part of that movement. You are needed to step up.
How can you do that? Try to be your best self as much as you can. Acknowledge your own greatness and see the greatness in others.
As Marianne Williamson wrote in ‘A return to love’ – “It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
Let that marinate for a moment.
Now – ask yourself:
- in which area of your life or business are you holding back?
- do you ever feel inadequate?
- do you wait for permission to shine?
- do you not believe in your own abilities at times?
- do you wait for the right time, enough money or the right people to start a project dear to your heart?
We all doubt our greatness at times, but let’s make a pact to radically uncover all that is holding us back from shining bright and being the lighthouse for others. Deal? Deal!
2) Your happiness
The other aspect of living your greatness is a very personal one: you will feel happier than ever before. You will feel a sense of alignment and flow that you’ve never known before. Miracles are part of your daily routine. Your heart opens and you feel connected to all that is. You are part of an infinite and powerful force of nature.
This one is a bit tricky though. Although you may desire to have all that, you may have built barriers to actually receiving it and that’s why it hasn’t become a reality yet.
Your natural state of being is abundant, happy, healthy and in love. Probably we are thrown into this dualistic world to learn that there are two sides to things: good and bad, up and down, light and dark. And then we are given free will to choose.
This builds the perfect learning ground for our souls, doesn’t it?
- We can choose to live our potential or we can choose to live a mediocre, yet safe and easy life.
- We can choose to be the inspiration or we can choose not to.
- We can choose to do what it takes to be happy or we can choose to suffer silently.
Whatever you are currently experiencing in your life, it’s what you chose. You can choose differently and create a new reality at any point. (Yes, you are that strong and your thoughts and shape your personal experiences.)
But it’s important to take inventory of what you current reality looks like and to adjust what you don’t like.
If you’re up for the task of becoming your best self then…
Your task is not to search for your greatness, but to find and tear down all the barriers you have built against it.
Your greatness is within you already, you are just not expressing it fully yet.
Now, let’s uncover some of your limiting beliefs:
Do you fear….
- not being good enough
- not being ready enough
- rejection
- failure
- other people’s (family) opinions
- you will be judged or ridiculed
- not having a strong message or are unsure what you message is
- …
Close your eyes for a moment and think of yourself as the leader. Feel and see yourself expressing your greatness, being authentically you and bringing forth your message to the world. How does that feel?
And now feel and look within what scares you.
Is it scary to….
- speak in front of many people
- write a book
- build your website
- show yourself fully
- …
Whatever you realize is a big gift. Once you know what barriers you are building to keep you from greatness, the easier it becomes to overcome them down.
But you know what is the most important ingredient?
SELF-LOVE
1) You need to love yourself to be able to be of service. You need to have good boundaries and a good self-love regime to be able to give and serve. If your vessel is empty you can’t fill anybody else’s vessel.
2) If you don’t love yourself, how can you feel worthy of creating a happy life? If you put yourself down internally, then how can you believe in your own greatness and take affirmative action to become your best self?
I struggled with self-love and I’m so glad spirit gave me a complete self-love activation process. I came to a point in my life where I needed to focus on loving myself first in order to be able to pull all the strings together and create an abundant, happy and meaningful business and life.

Enlightening to say the least! The bit about other people doing what I do but my energy being unique and ‘attractive’ to different people is eye opening!
